21) Homecoming

Hey everyone,

Today's post is about an annual event that apparently happens every year at my school. This event is called Homecoming, and is basically a fair type of thing where you can get food, go on rides, dance etc. However, it's also the opening to what i think is basketball season, so straight after the tailgate, students for free are able to see our school play basketball against another school. In this case it was LB against San Francisco State - incase you're curious, we won.

I took some pictures of the tailgate before hand, which i found super fun, as it was so American :')

That huge pyramid is where the basketball game was held.. here is what it looks like on the insiiiide....

The game itself took a while, in my opinion, to get going. But let's just put it this way, they take Basketball very seriously at my school and if they lose they are not happy! :') The students were given signs and balloons in the school colours throughout the game to wave about and this is what they ended up looking like..

This is a picture of the student section taken by someone in the side stalls.. see what I mean.

It was overall another great experience, and i'm glad we won so there were no annoyed students running about!

20) Girlie LA Day!

Hello everyone!

So last Saturday, us girlies decided to have a day in LA, shopping and having a look around!

(From Right: Kelsey, Becca, Pam, Anne and Me)

We started the day in Vons. Why is this important you're asking me right now? Aha, this is because of the size of the sandwich and the drink that Pam brought. This is all very crucial to the rest of this post (it's really not, but it does make for a rather interesting beginning don't you think? - here have some pictures of said items)

(This drink above ^^ hands down the worst thing i've ever smelt in my entire life, it smelt like pure mould and cow pat, i'm not even remotely joking, I really wish I was. When Pam sipped this it almost made her throw up that's how bad it was. She then proceeded to spill the drink down her leg, smelling like rotten fish, nice!)

Anyways, we decided to first explore Hollywood, and we ended up in a huge shopping centre, having a look around :)

Hollywood Sign^^ woooo.

We then decided to go to my favourite place in LA, The Grove Farmers Market. It's so quaint and different and I think that's why I love it so much. Even more so as it was Christmas themed!

We left LA reasonably early as we had a party to go to this night but we had enough time for a Cheesecake Factory stop off!

Overall, the day was so fun and i do really love certain parts of LA :)

19) French House Party Round 2!

Hey Guys,

Todays post is going to be about an evening with some more of the French exchangers!
We decided to go visit our friends Brian and Pierre as we were invited to their flat party, it was actually a really fun night and I met even more people! One thing i've learned by being an exchange person is everyone is in the same boat, so the amount of people you meet is crazy and this is one aspect i've really loved about this exchange!

Anyways, heres a couple of photos from our night with them :) It was pretty chill.

The french exchangers here are genuinely some of the friendliest and most welcoming people i've met and i love them all :) if you're reading this you guys are awesome :)

18) Halloween American Styley!

Hey Everyone,

So if you're unaware, America loves Halloween. Like, they really bloody love it. Therefore, I was desperate to go to some kind of house party for it, dress up and look a bit of a tit. This years costume, a mime!

My friend Anne knew of a house party with people from her department, so Becca, Pam and I decided to tag along and cramp her style. Here are a few pictures of the night and our costumes! :)

I didn't think it was possible for me to get any paler, but apparently it is!

Overall the night was pretty good, and we met a lot of very welcoming lovely people :)

Happy Belated Halloween ! :)

17) Going San Francisco!

Hey Everyone!

Todays post is going to be about my family weekend away at San Francisco! We left on Saturday and came back on the Monday, and I think it's safe to say I fell completely head over heels in love with the city, i forgot how much i loved cities just from this trip.

Disclaimer: This is a super long post!

SUNDAY
We spent our first full day (Sunday) exploring the city on an open air tour bus! This showed all the major attractions and also offered the chance to hop on and off which was pretty awesome.

I think its safe to say that the highlights was definitely the Golden Gate! We jumped off here and got some pictures :)

Above is pictures of me my sister my brother and my dad :) The actual bridge itself is breathtaking and really cold to drive across. :')

Half way through the tour we decided to jump off and go to the Mrs Doubtfire house. As kids, me and my siblings watched this film SO many times, so were super heartbroken when Robin Williams died, therefore we had to visit Steiner street and see the house where it was filmed!

Outside of the house by the trees there were a bunch of stones, and on every stone was a message to Robin as well as along the pavement. A lot of them were really touching but these were my favourite two!

SUNDAY

Sunday morning we decided to have a walk around to see a few of the famous landmarks of San Fran, however we came across a tram, and because we hadn't had the chance to go on one we decided to jump on the side of one to grab some pictures!

During the day on Sunday, we decided to visit Alcatraz, i genuinely knew nothing about it but have always been interested in criminology and the like, so was pretty excited to go, and I can safely say it didn't disappoint. A lot of it was super interesting and I would definitely recommend a visit to anyone who visits the San Fran area.

We got a audio guided tour which came included, and was able to see everything in about 3 to 4 hours. The prison itself is huge, and there are lots of signs and posters everywhere explaining all the different things that happened within the prison.

So, there we have it, here was just a short snippet of my time with my family whilst they flew out to Cali to visit. I hope you can appreciate that a lot of the photos I have kept to myself, but it's safe to say i was so happy to see them and i'm so glad i got to see them and explore a new city with them. If you're reading this, i love you all and thank you for visiting me :) I had a blast!
