The End of The Road.

This post right here, will be my final one on this blog, which upsets me greatly.
My californian adventure has come to an end, as has my semester abroad.

If i'm honest, it's been one hell of an experience. The things i've seen, the people i've met and the things i've learnt i will genuinely carry with me for the rest of my life. I always wanted to do a semester abroad, the girls i live with back home were so supportive of me coming here to begin with because they knew it was what i had wanted from before even joining university. So to have finally say I have finished my semester abroad, is crazy. I've been waiting to experience something like this for so long and now it's over it makes me kinda sad. I won't lie, it hasn't been an easy one, and at times i've thought it's not for me, but i wouldn't change one bit of it because i have 'hella' (;) ;) ;) ) stories to tell.

Now, here comes the ridiculously soppy part where i want to just say a goodbye to all the people i've met and with everyone flying off in all different directions, this is the easiest way I can think about doing it, so, here goes.

2/3 Musketeers.
I guarantee i'm going to get emotional when writing this, yep already started. As a group we have literally gone everywhere together, and seen some amazing things. I laugh thinking about how emotional we got when it started snowing at Disney, i think that shows how adorable our friendship is. Never did i think that i would find a solid little group of pals that I would go on my every adventure with but I have and thats you two, so..

Becca - Well, this is starting off well, this isn't really a goodbye lets be honest, it's more of a 'cya when I'm drunk on a night out back home' kind of goodbye. I can happily say that embarrassing Anne with you has been an absolute pleasure. I love that i have videos of you wetting yourself laughing at my deflated pumpkin, and the video of you 'posing' not realising i was videoing. I will honestly miss having someone to match my being gullible and pissing about aspect of my personality, it's been fun dickhead. <3

Anndrea - I literally dont even know how to start this because i feel whatever i say will not suffice. You're like the adopted older sibling, who always moans at me for being inappropriate or says that i'm an embarrassment, but honestly, you're one lovely human. I can't believe that by me randomly wondering into the international office one day i gained a room-mate over night. I can literally not thank you enough for putting up with me asking if you're feeling okay every 30 seconds, and for you looking after me when i've been sick or crying about something. You've done so much for me in such a small amount of time and I genuinely can't thank you enough. I love that i also have videos of me winding you up, and you telling me F off because thats how i will remember our friendship, permanently just pissing each other off. You know you're more than welcome to fly over anytime you want and stay with in little ole Leicester.
<3

Love you two <3

My Platonic Soulmate
PAMELAAAAA - I literally I don't even think I can write this one because honestly there isn't even enough words to write how much i'm gonna miss you. I literally am devastated to have found such a good friend who lives on a different bloody continent but who has my exact humour. You're the one person in my entire life that I have cried of laughter thinking about one thing we've said at multiple times months after it happened - 'Oh my god, her face, it looks so weird, oh...'. Honestly, I love that I could literally tell you anything and you wouldn't find it weird. I love that we both mutually love food, and one of the first things that made us friends was you asking if i wanted to do a food eating competition in the dining hall because its unlimited food and why not. I love that we have a mutual hatred for so many things and that sport is like our ideal of hell. I love that we both say things are wizard and our mutual obsession with puppies. OH MY GOD , theres just so many things i love about our friendship and so many things i'm going to miss. I swear to god, if you don't stay in touch, and send me bare chocolate i'm gonna be so mad at you. Thanks for being awesome chump, love you xxx

PS. BING CROOOOOOOOOOOOSBY

The one who's way too nice but i abuse anyway -
Kelsey - I swear to god, you are the most genuine and lovely human i've ever met and it's only now after i've left you ;) that i profusely apologise for picking on you for the past 4 months, for you're such an easy target and take it so well. Thank you very much for providing me with such entertainment over the past four months. I honestly will remember Thanksgiving in your house for the rest of my ole days, and i cant thank you and your family enough for providing everything they did for those few days! I think I speak on behalf of everyone when we say we had a bloody awesome time and you have the nicest family. <3

My Origional mental room-mate.
Shnea - I literally have no words to describe how quiet my life is going to be for the rest of my life without you in it. From when I first knocked and you shouted KATHERINEEEE through the door and told me to wait as you were wondering around naked, i knew i was in for an experience. I can safely say, that living with you, has been one. You are absolutely mental, but i know me and Anne wouldn't change you at all. You've taught Anne to twerk, and i dont think she'll ever be able to repay you for that properly. You're the biggest laugh to have around, and i'm gonna miss waking up to you running around the room when a plane flies too close or the alarm goes off and you thinking the worlds coming to an end. It's been nice knowing you ya bean head.

The annoying big brother -
Alastair - I feel that this hate/hate relationship has gone on for way too long, and it's time to make up. Not. i still dislike you. ;) Honestly, although you're the biggest pains in the world you can be only alright sometimes. I would like to thank you for your never ending knowledge of everything, and the way i now know lots of things that i would never of known otherwise. Your banter with me has been on top form all semester and for that I thank you, as without someone to have some british banter with I think I would of been a lost cause. So, although there's a chance i'll see you again at sometime in the future as you're from hull.. wait no i'm never going to visit hull. Let me know if you're in London and we'll go get a KFC or something :') ;) It's been nice knowing ya buddy, much love :) *Hugs for one time only, never to be hugged again*.

My 'bmfl'
Liam - Ah Liam, you're literally one of the nicest guys i've met here. I literally have nothing remotely bad or banterous i can say against you, apart from when we mutually agreed to stay best friends 4ever because you were drunk. I wish you all the best for the future my dear and hope you have an awesome time in Vegas and San Fran before you return home! :)

The one full of BANTER
Canadian Matt - Hands down, you are the nicest Canadian in the entire world and I genuinely don't think anyone could argue against that. I love how much banter we've had about my mum and your dad and its all been too much banter over one semester, especially on our night tour in San Fran and i love that we shared seeing that increeeeedible view of san fran, it was pretty sweet. You are absolutely hilarious and i'm buzzed that you're coming over to europe next year! Thank you for all the banter, and when you're over, you can definitely meet my mum, i'm sure she'd love to meet the famous shanahanahahanahahana.

Ps i said banter at least 3 times during that, this is your fault.

Laura - Ah Laura, what can i say about you. I feel like you're a big sister, you're literally so wise to everything and i love that. You have been so lovely to me, when i was going through a really rough time and you brought round cookies and listened to me complain like i will never forget it. I can't thank you enough for being a brilliant friend and i hope you have a fantastic year ahead, and ps. keep me updated on all gossip :) <3

MY FRENCHIES <3

The French Fiance
JULIEN - I'm literally so sad to say bye to you. We are known as the rock solid couple and now we're breaking up and living our separate lives and thus going through an early divorce before the marriage in vegas even bloody happened. Genuinely, you're the cutest bloody individual and I think we all owe you a lot for introducing us to a whole new range of people when you arrived. You're so much fun to be around, and i'm gonna miss making fun of your heart-melting accent and the way you say Katie :( You and Stefan promised me that you'd come over and visit so you have to, but for the time being, have an amazing rest of your year out here in California. I'm going to miss you a whole lot <3

Jerome, Clemence, Martin, Stephane, Pierre & Brian
Aw, what can I even say about you guys, you're just all absolutely lovely. You have all been so welcoming to us in all parties, and have supplied us with so many laughs. I'm going to miss you all, and i've already told Julien that i've put in a special request for you to all to come over to England. If you don't i'll be so sad :( I look forward to seeing you all super soon <3

My Neighbours <3

Kevin, Joshua, Leland, Matteo and Steven.

You boys :( You have been like the BEST people to live next-door too, you literally have provided me and anne with so much entertainment and i literally am going to miss you guys so much. Kevin, you being my son, and always knocking asking to go for dinner and ill never forget locking us both out :')
Joshua, my favourite frat boy since day one, i knew you were a lovely guy from you straight up offering to drive me to target and you've always been such a hilarious guy to be around. Matteo, my columbian husband. You're the cutest human, and i'm going to miss the little wink you do and how when you eat good food you go NOM NOM NOM really loudly :') Steven and Leland, i'm so upset we only got to know each other at the end of the semester, but i'm so glad we did, you guys are so lovely, and steven some of your jokes may be horrendous and inhumane but you're bloody hilarious. I love all you boys and i wish you all the best <3

Shelby - I literally just love you. You're my little doctor, as well as my therapist, as well as my guidance counsellor because you are always always there for me. I love how we vent at each other and at how mad we are at the male species and i just love you. I wish you all the best and you BEST keep me updated on your life cause i'm gonna miss you coming in and ranting about everything! <3

I'm fully aware this isn't everyone that i've met here, but you guys are the ones who i've spent so much time with and have helped me a lot throughout this entire experience. I love you all so much and i'm going to miss you all.

To everyone else i've met here, it's been a pleasure and i'm very happy that i've had the chance to meet you and in some cases even work on projects alongside you, i've been taught so much by all of you and i love you all very much also! :)

Everyone who's read this blog, i just want to thank you also, i've had a blast writing it and i'm gonna miss updating everyone on my escapades and i love that i have this reminder of my semester in the future :)

25) Universal and Saying Bye To Becca :(

Hey guys,

So, as annual pass holders for Universal and after only going one time, a few of us girls decided to grab our passes and head their for the day, turns out they've decked the place out in Christmas related stuff, and they've called it Grinchmas. Well it's safe to say we had a pretty awesome time, especially having a pass which allowed us to get to the front of every queue!

Fun fact ^^ In this show, I almost had a chicken fly into my head. Not even joking.

In the evening of universal, we decided to go out for dinner at OutBack Steakhouse as Becca is going home in the next few days, so we wanted one last meal all together :) We all had a really nice time, and realised it was the first time as a group we had been together in a long time. Unfortunately, I was enjoying myself clearly too much, and forgot to take any pictures! I'm sorry!

24) Heading up to San Francisco

DISCLAIMER: READ THE POST BELOW THIS FIRST!

On the third day of our Thanksgiving trip, we decided to grab the train to central San Francisco and have a look around. Before that, however, we had a breakfast with Kelseys family, and because nothing is every normal in my life, I of course did something entirely stupid.

Here, my lovely readers, is a picture of my pancakes. On my pancakes, is a small ball of what looks like vanilla ice cream doesn't it? Well, everyone, let me tell you now, THAT IS NOT ICE CREAM. I only realised this after eating the whole thing, in one go, on its own, that that ball of vanilla looking ice cream is in fact, butter. It's definitely up there as one of the worst 10 seconds of my life, and I would never recommend eating a ball of butter on it's own to anyone, ever.

Moving on swiftly, we headed up to San Fran and arrived at around 3.

As a group we split into two, half the group cycled to the Golden Gate and me and my friend Canadian Matt decided to take the night tour on the hop on hop off bus after making friends with the guy in the hat shop for the first hour and a half of our trip. However, going top deck of a open air tour bus, when its raining, and windy, isn't always the greatest ideas. However it does make for some awesome pictures, enjoy!

All in all we had a pretty awesome day, and I would definitely recommend the night bus tour which takes you to treasure island! AMAZING views.

I just want to finish these two posts by saying a huge thank you to the Shanks family for having us in their house for 4 days, for feeding us and letting us sleep at yours! I think I speak on behalf of everyone when I say we had an awesome time and it's greatly appreciated and we hope to see you again in the future!

23) The Internationals do Thanksgiving!

So, there's quite a big thing in the US called Thanksgiving. I don't quite know the ins and outs of it all but I know for certain it's where everyone eats and spends time with their nearest and dearest. However, without own nearest and dearest's thousands of miles away, our very dear friend Kelsey offered to take 5 of us internationals under her wing and invite us up to San Francisco for a very American thanksgiving!

So, as the boys and Kelsey drove up with Kelseys sister, the three musketeers as we shall be referred to from this point onwards (Becca, Anne and I) decided to take the greyhound up to where Kelsey lives, which was.. erm.. an experience. Not only did our coach overheat 3 times, but we were also delayed 4 hours to Kelseys house and was forced to eat my lunch at the side of a freeway in the middle of the desert. At least it made for an interesting story I guess!

Little did we know, that the return journey wouldn't be much better, but i'll explain that one later!

When we finally arrived at around 9pm we were greeted by Kelsey, Alastair, Canadian Matt and Kelseys mum and sister. We had finally made it after 12 hours on a coach, and were pretty excited to rest up and prepare for a few days with Kelsey and her family!

The following day was Thanksgiving and its safe to say that every aspect lived up to its expectations! We started the morning off with a walk around Kelseys area, and genuinely, felt like I was in an episode of desperate housewives!

We then met Kelseys family, like her uncle, grandma and great grandma and settled down for a lovely thanksgiving dinner cooked by her family!

Overall, the meal was delicious and thank you very much to Kelseys family for cooking it for us! Definitely a meal to remember!

After thanksgiving, there is also ANOTHER tradition called Black Friday. However, for some reason, black friday started on thursday evening this year, and with Anne desperate for an iPad, as a group we set out to target on a mission to pick her one up!
Here's some pictures of us just chilling in the 30,000 mile long queue into target :)

Mission Successful!
