14) Meeting more International Exchangers!

My friends Julien and Clemence who were in my universal post recently just moved into their apartment here, and it was because of this they decided to throw a house warming party :)

I actually had the best time and met so many lovely people, especially lots of French people who made a real effort to speak to us! Here's a couple of pictures of last night :)

It was so much fun to get to meet so many new people and how excited everyone was to just talk and happy to talk to anyone :)

13) Universal Studios: Round One

As a film student the idea of going to Universal Studios was far too exciting, especially as we get student rates. So, a group of us decided to head to Los Angeles and Universal City and get an annual pass for only $77.

We were lucky enough to be blessed with beautiful weather and we even got a pass which allowed us to go to the front of the queues.

We started off our day with a cheeky lunch at Johnny Rockets. I had chicken strips and bbq sauce and we all got a couple of photos taken my a professional photographer.

The food was super good but the bill got majorly screwed up which was a complete pain!

We then entered the park and I think it's safe to say I fell slightly in love with it.

I think this statue alone signs up my future career and I love it excessively. I want it in my living room when i'm older.

Our first ride of the day was the studio tour, we were told it takes on average an hour but it gives a tour of all the backlot studios where TV stations like 'The Mindy Project' and 'CSI' is filmed. We also saw the streets in which films like 'Back to The Future' and 'Bruce Almighty' were filmed on as well as the whole lake set up of where 'Jaws' was filmed. I loved this tour and this was hands down my favourite part of the day, ESPECIALLY going down Wisteria Lane.

The stairs just on the right here is where Bruce runs down with his dog in the film 'Bruce Almighty'.

Wisteria Lane!

Next stop was the land of Despicable Me! The whole little town was super cute :)

However, i decided not to ride this one and neither did Pam, so instead we went to view the show 'Waterworld' which was actually surprisingly really good and both me and Pam thoroughly enjoyed it. We even met a guy who's been on The Walking Dead.

Unfortunately our day came to a close early as they had to make way for the Halloween evenings, which they decorated the entire park awesome for.

I love this film! Super tempted to go to the Horror Night!

All in all I had an awesome day at Universal, so good infact, i'm visiting tomorrow!

12) Finally, I Visit Hollywood

Disclaimer: This is a really long post.

Hello my loves,

So, since I got here one of the main things I've wanted to do is to go to LA and see Hollywood. A few weeks back, this actually happened. We'd planned it for like 3 weeks, what we would do and the places we wanted to see and I can happily say it did not disappoint. It was one of the best days i've had since i've been here and i'm so happy I got to see it.

Let me introduce you to the group.

Starting from the Left we have,
Liam, Al, Becca, Me, Laura, Anne and Canadian Matt.

Now that's out of the way, lets get on with the day!
We all got up reasonably early and took the metro from where we live to LA. It took around an hour and we decided to just get off in Hollywood. As soon as we got out of the station we got harassed by a guy who was desperate for us to go on a star tours to see the houses etc. However, as he gave us a deal of a 3 hour tour for $20 each we kind of just agreed and went to pay our money. Although looking slightly dodgy to begin with, it did not disappoint and we even had a professional comedian as our tour guide making it definitely worth the money.

On this tour we saw things such as:
Pretty Girl Hotel
Marilyn Monroes house
Kim and Kanye's House
Charlie Sheen's House
Hollywood Sign
Katy Perry's House
Ellen DeGeneres's House
John Travolta's House
Rodeo Drive
Beverly Hills Sign

Pretty Woman Hotel

Katy Perry's

Kim and Kanye's

John Travoltas

After our star tours, we got dropped off just outside the Chinese theatre. It was here we decided to properly check out the stars on the floor as well as the handprints etc.

After all our escapades at the Chinese theatre we decided to pay a visit to a place our tour guide recommended. It was called ' The Grove ' and when we pulled up and saw Farmers Market we immediately assumed this wasn't really what we had in mind. However, after seeing a huge Topshop we quickly learnt it was a huge shopping centre and the whole thing genuinely looked like it was straight out of a movie, it was so quaint and lovely, it's one place I 100% want to revisit before I leave.

We were so tight on time, so we ran to the restaurant that me and Becca have been dying to try out, The Cheesecake Factory and it's safe to say it definitely did not disappoint.

The best part of this whole meal was by far the Vanilla Bean cheesecake, like oh my god it was SO so SO good.

Unfortunately, the end of the day ended slightly disastrously as we missed our greyhound to take us back to where we live so had to get a taxi! That's a minor hiccup though as all in all we had a great day and I will definitely look back on this one with fond memories :)
